Youth Hosteling April 2013
Day 1
There are only a few pictures below to give you an idea of the weekend we had. It started really well we found the camping barn at Kildale and only missed the entrance once. We walked to the train station and made it in time to get on the train. Unfortunately we got off the train one stop to soon, quickly realising the mistake we jumped back on the train and carried onto the next stop. Over the weekend we walked around 26miles. The weekend before we went on the trip with the scouts 2 leaders walked the full route in one day to make sure everything was OK the weather on the actual trip could not have been more different to the weather that weekend. It was that cold the leaders were walking through thick ice, the sides of there faces numb from the icy wind but they completed the walk. The following week we walked it with the scouts and it was glorious sunshine a little cold but nothing like the week before. 3 scouts were invested at the top of the last hill of the day where we had a 360º of the area we had walked and where we still had to walk. By the time we made it to the camping barn we were all ready for a rest. We hoped after walking 19miles the scouts would eat tea and fall asleep, this did not happen, tea seemed to give them a massive energy boost at they were up for hours.

This is what the view may have been like if we had of walked this in the summer.
