Youth Hosteling April 2013 Day 2
Day 2 was an early start for the leaders as we decided to get up and make everyone breakfast, this is a novelty as the scouts normally do all the cooking for themselves. Breakfast eaten we then had to persuade the scouts walking on the second day was a good idea. We drove and parked near Captain Cooks monument but before we set off walking one scout was heading home for a previous engagement. We wont mention any names but his dad needed a police escort to be able to find us. We walked from the car park to the monument into Great Ayton, where we treated everyone to an ice cream, up Roseberry topping back down and to the car. Although this was a shorter walk it felt a lot further aching from the day before and every time time you look up all you can see is Roseberry topping and leaders knowing we had to get to the top. Everyone made it round the full route and had a fantastic weekend.
